1. UNIVERSITY INSTITUTIONS RECOGNIZED BY THE COUNTRY’S COMPETENT AUTHORITIES 

1.1 Online directory of the institutions recognized by competent authorities

The country’s Higher Education Institutions (IES) are presented in two categories: the first includes only the IES recognized by their excellence, and the second, all of the IES, in other words those recognized for their excellence and those that are only recognized by valid official studies (RVOE).

Directory of quality institutions recognized by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) by counting with at least 75% of its matriculation in quality programs, either from being in the first level of the roster of the Comités Interinstitucionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior (CIEES) and/or accredited by agencies acknowledged by the Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior (COPAES).The CIEES and COPAES are the organizations responsible for the evaluation and accreditation of Higher education in México.

In the Directory of the Subsecretaría de Educación Superior (SES) higher education institutions, one can consult all of the institutions that offer higher education in México.This is the ANUIES site that offers information about the Mexican higher education system and the IES that incorporate it:

• Students and parents who wish to learn about what public and private higher education has to offer by State.
• Administrators and members of academic groups interested in consulting the results of instrumental strategic programs for the SEP.
• Institution coordinators that require knowledge about the progress of main education indicators.
• Analysts and scholars of the Mexican higher education subsystem.
• General public interested in knowing about the administration’s progress for 2007-2012 in the superior level; the internet address for a Mexican higher education institution, or even to communicate with administrators and personnel of the IES.
