2.1 Online directory of careers (programs) recognized by competent authorities

Programs or careers evaluated by the Comités Interinstitucionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior(CIEES). In this directory, programs recognized for their quality can be identified by having had been classified in the level one of their roster. Said level has been given after academic experts have performed extensive evaluations of the education programs.

Programs or careers accredited by recognized agencies for the Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior (COPAES).Credit is given for having had completed all the requirements established by the COPAES and must comply with a program of good value. Said accreditation is given for five years, once academic experts have performed rigorous evaluations of the education programs.

Quality programs evaluated by the Comités Interinstuticionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior(CIEES) and/or accredited organizations recognized by the Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior (COPAES).

For postgraduate programs one can consult the web page for the Comités Interinstuticionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior(CIEES) www.ciees.edu.mx and the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT), where the Programa Nacional de Posgrados de Calidad (PNPC) is presented. The PNPC is administered jointly by the Secretaría de Educación Pública, through the SES and the CONACYT. The program establishes its mission to generate the continuous improvement and the guarantee of excellence in the national postgraduate programs, with increasing sustenance in the science, technology, social, human, and innovative capabilities in the country.

The PNPC visualizes the year 2012 in the following way: México counts with institutions offering high quality postgraduate programs with international recognition. These incorporate the generation and application of knowledge as an option for the development of society, as well as attention to its necessities, consolidating with more competitiveness the growth and development of the country.

Consolidation of the national postgraduate programs.
Growth in the quality and pertinence of the nation’s postgraduate programs.
Support for the internationalization of postgraduate programs and the cooperation from each institution.
Strengthening of collaboration between different society sectors.
Systematic evaluation, by the institution, of the existing program’s efforts in the PNCP.
