3. INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO STUDY IN THIS COUNTRY
3.1 How can one obtain a greater understanding of the programs available in the higher learning level in México?
This section has easy identifiable information related to educational offers, for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, from the major higher education institutions (IES) of México.
In the following link one is able to find a directory of IES and the catalog of educational programs, for both undergraduate and postgraduate, that have been recognized for their worth by official organizations: the Padrón Nacional de Posgrado (PNP) for the postgraduate programs, and the Comités Interinstuticionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior (CIEES) and the Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior (COPAES) for the undergraduate studies.

In addition, the Asociación de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior (ANUIES) offers the presentation “Study in Mexico: Guide for Foreign Students”, in which relevant aspects of the higher education in México are presented, as well as recommendations to consider by those foreign students who wish to carry out their higher education in México.

3.2 Do I need to pass a Spanish language exam to be admitted into a university institution in México?
It depends directly on the IES in which one wants to study. However, it is convenient to consider that the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) is an Órgano Técnico Desconcentrado de la Administración Pública Federal, dependent on the Secretaría (Ministerio) de Gobernación, so the present migratory legislation applies. Its usual public is made up of visitors from other countries, those who want to remain in México either temporarily or permanently, and Mexicans who hire foreigners and those who wish to establish familiar ties to foreign men or women.
